Ranil calls for street protests ‘Tide has turned’
The results of last week’s Western and Southern Provincial Council Elections was a warning to the Rajapaksa regime that the tide had turned and it was a matter of time before the people sent it home for good, the UNP and Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday.

Addressing a news conference in Colombo, he noted that some senior Ministers were doing their best to give various interpretations to the results, but it was quite clear that the voters had flashed the ‘red lights’ which meant they were fed up with the repeated bogus promises that were never fulfilled and wanted an end to the increasing burdens being heaped on them by the day.

Urging the masses to take their protests to the streets, the UNP leader said that with national polls expected to be held this year, the momentum gained at the provincial level had to be maintained to ensure that a crushing defeat was delivered to a power drunk government that had lost touch with reality.

The rising cost of living, rampant corruption, unprecedented crime wave and the denial of human freedoms and rights, had all contributed to the increasing unpopularity of the UPFA government, despite it using the UNHRC vote to obtain sympathy votes and stem the tide against it, the Opposition Leader observed.

Wickremesinghe pointed out that it was not only the Rajapaksas who were seeing stars at the drop in their voter base, but also those who had held a brief for them. "They are shocked at what had happened and have suddenly woken from their deep slumber. But time is fast running out for the powers that be." While thanking the Leadership Council headed by Karu Jayasuriya and the rank and file for the hard work they had put in to ensure the UNP’s improved performance, he expressed confidence that they would be able to build on their successes and face the next national election with renewed vigour.

The UNP leader appealed to all members to work unitedly and stay focused on defeating the corrupt Rajapaksa regime.

I have found an interesting site, which is http://winpokie.com/ and I would like to know your opinion in several issues such as, in which city is better to open a poker club in Australia?
Do you know any examples of people who have developed in this area of business and have achieved success? How did they managed to do it?
