The fishermen included five stranded at mid sea after their boat developed a snag yesterday and five others who went in search of them, Assistant Director of Fisheries Karthikeyan told reporters here.
Their boats were seized and all of them lodged in prison in Talaimanar in Sri Lanka, he said.
Meanwhile police said three other fishermen from nearby Dhanushkodi, described as 'smugglers' by the Lankan Navy, were taken into cutody and lodged in Kalpatti Jail in Jaffna yesterday.
