Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stressed that her visit is not for giving instructions to the government.
The Sri Lankan government has extended an invitation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Navanetham Pillay to visit Sri Lanka to get firsthand look on many positive developments the country has made since the end of the war.
The government says it has extended the invitation to Pillay since this kind of visits will help to enlighten the international community about the progress and development achieved by Sri Lanka after ending terrorism.
Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stressed that her visit is not for giving instructions to the government. Parliamentary delegations from India and Britain also made visits to Sri Lanka recently, the Minister pointed out.
