A news story published by EIN News Service, based in New York, said that Clark had joined the GTE as a ‘Senator’. His name was among a list of nine senators announced yesterday.
According to the list announced by Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, "Prime Minister" of the TGTE, a Sinhalese, Dr. Brain Seneviratne, who is currently living in Australia, too, had been appointed as a ‘Senator’.
The list of nine ‘Senators’ also includes Dr. Nagalingam Jeyalingam, MD from New York, Satya Sivaraman, journalist and human rights and public health activist from New Delhi, India, Usha Sriskandarajah: An activist from Canada, Elansezhian B.Sc. from Tamil Nadu, India, M. Gnaneswaran, an engineer from Canada, Jegan N. Mohan, barrister-at-law from Canada, and B. Rajaratnam from Canada. Former United States Attorney General Ramsey Clark played a major role in drafting and guiding the passage of two important US Laws: The Voting Rights Act of 1965 and The Civil Rights Act of 1968. Clarke was the Attorney General when Lyndon B. Johnson was President of the USA.
It was also reported that the names of additional six senators would be announced soon.
