41 bank accounts with Rs. 134 million belonged to Easter attack suspects frozen

Police media spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara said that 41 banks accounts belonging to the suspects who had links with the National Thowheed Jama’ath terrorist organization, were frozen.

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of Police have found Rs. 134 million in the 41 bank accounts and also recovered another Rs. 14 million belonging to the suspects, who are being detained by the CID and the Terrorist Investigations Division over the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The Spokesman further said that a broad investigation is being conducted into the assets of the suspects and the CID is continuing its investigations over other assets that amount to about Rs. 7 billion.
