The Minister of Education Prof. GL Peiris says that the GCE Ordinary Level examination cannot be held on the scheduled dates.
The Minister said in Parliament today (01) the decision to postpone the examination was made taking into account the spread of coronavirus in the country.
The new dates of the examination will be announced 6 weeks in advance, the Minister added.
The GCE Ordinary Level Examination was earlier scheduled to be held from January 18 to 27.
However, he said that he would analyze the COVID-19 situation in the country every two weeks and look into the possibility of conducting the examination.
