Joint search operations by the Police and Military continue

Several joint search operations by the Army and the Police implemented have been implemented today (25) in several parts of the country.

A special raid was conducted on an office of an Arabic school in Madampe by security personnel engaged in operations in Chilaw, Madampe and Maha Wewa. Two laptop computers, a stock of CDs containing lectures of Zaharan Hashim were taken into custody of the security division.

Similar search operations have been carried out in Avissawella, Thalduwa and Puwakpititya towns as well with joint collaboration with the battalions of the 142 brigade headquarters of Army and the Police.

Meanwhile, Information have been revealed of an Arabic school at a location that has been considered as an archeological site in the Asirigama area in Anuradhapura during a search operation conducted by Army troops.

Parts of an ancient Chaithya that was destroyed have also been found at the site during the search operation. Investigations have revealed that seven students are studying at this school. Archaeologists have decided to commence investigations into the site.

The Army had arrested Moulavi and the teachers of the school and took steps to hand them to the Parasangaswewa police for further investigations.
