May Day rallies held in Jaffna despite the government’s decision to shift May Day to May 7 this year.
May Day rally of the TNA held at Michael Playground situated at Malu Junction in Vadamaratchi yesterday evening while May Day rally of the TNPF held at Shankiliyan Park in Nallur.
Meanwhile, following the Mahanayakke Theros asked the government to shift the May Day Programmes since the May Day comes in the Vesak week this year, the government announced that May Day would be marked on 7th of May.
It is noteworthy that holiday to mark the May Day has also been shifted to May 7.
