Muslim MPs to raise concerns with UN, OIC

by editorenglish

A group of Muslim Parliamentarians who resigned from their Ministerial posts this week will raise their concerns with the UN and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said that they have decided to meet members of diplomatic community in Sri Lanka, meet the UN Resident Representative in Sri Lanka, and also have talks with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation is the collective voice of the Muslim world. OIC has membership of 57 countries in four continents and safeguards to protect the interests of Muslims across the world.

Bathiudeen said this while speaking to reporters after he visited the Police Headquarters in Colombo today to lodge a complaint.
