Special Police Commandos (Police STF) are engaged in patrol in Jaffna days and nights. Two Jaffna University students were brutally killed in the shooting of Jaffna Policemen on 20th of last October.
Subsequent to that, two of the civil clothed intelligence operatives have come under sword attack in Chunnakam.
“Ava Group” claimed that they had committed the sword attack over the policemen. Subsequently, five divisions including Special Task Force, Terrorism Investigation Division and Special Unit of Police launched operations to arrest the “Ava Group”.
Consequently, many youths accused of being engaged in “Ava Group” have been arrested in Jaffna. Meanwhile, Special Police Commandos (Police STF) are engaged in patrol in Jaffna days and nights.
