Sri Lanka’s Marxist party, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today handed over a no-confidence motion against the entire government to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayaka accompanied by the parliamentarians of his party handed over the no-confidence motion to the Speaker at his office at 10:00 am, Speaker’s Media office said.

The no-confidence motion is brought against the entire government including President and Minister of Defense Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Cabinet of Ministers for failing to take measures to prevent the Islamist extremist terrorist attacks that were carried out on Easter Sunday (April 21st) despite information regarding such attacks was known to them.
