Tamil street name boards have been found vandalised at multiple locations in the country.

The Tamil name boards have been damaged or removed by unidentified persons following the Presidential election.

One such name board had been vandalised in Panadura while another had been found removed at another location.

Images of the damage caused to these name boards have been circulated on social media.

Former Minister of National Integration and Official Languages Mano Ganesan tweeted saying some of the incidents seem to involve mischief makers.

“Beginning of another dark era? Or an act of Mischief makers? The Panadura UC chairman Nandana has lodged entry at police & promised to redo Susantha Mawatha Tamil scripts. Sri Lanka is constitutionally Trilingual. Maroon or Green, let’s build Trilingual Srilankan nation,” Ganesan tweeted.
