The number of police officers who have contracted the COVID-19 virus has increased to 105, according to the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Ten more officers have been identified as virus positive today (01), NOCPCO said.
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that two persons at the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) in Dematagoda, including a female police officer, have been infected with the COVID-19 virus.
As a result, nearly 235 female officers at the women’s barracks on Malalasekera Mawatha in Colombo have been directed for self-quarantine.
A total of 26 infected police officers have been reported from the CCD so far.
Reportedly, 02 officers from Modara Police Station, 02 from Dematagoda Police Station, 01 each from Colombo Port, Maligawatta, Maradana, and Grandpass Police Stations have been identified to have contracted the coronavirus.
