The Office on Missing Persons (OMP) will issue an interim report with a set of interim recommendations on August 30.
The release of the interim report will coincide with the International Day against Enforced Disappearances which falls on August 30th.
The International Day against enforced disappearances will be commemorated August 30th by the OMP from 3 to 5 pm at the Jayewardene Centre, the OMP said.
The OMP, led by President’s Counsel Saliya Pieris, said that the interim report will have recommendations for the Government on several issues of the missing and disappeared.
The OMP was established in February 2018 and since then it has met with families of the missing, particularly in the North and East.
