Sri Lanka has been accused of failing to ensure justice for the five youth killed in Trincomalee in 2006.
Amnesty International has been campaigning for justice for Ragihar Manoharan and four other Tamil students allegedly killed by the Sri Lankan security forces on Jan. 2, 2006 in Trincomalee.
Amnesty noted that despite police investigations and a Presidential commission of inquiry, no one has been held accountable for these crimes.
To publicize this case, Amnesty has two photo actionsongoing, one focused on Ragihar in particular and one on the “Trinco Five” students as a group.
The photo actions at bit.ly/TrincoFive calls on the Sri Lankan Government to effectively investigate and prosecute those responsible for these murders so that the families of the students may at last receive justice.
