All government schools closed during the week of the general election

It has been decided to grant leave to all government schools during the week of the general election. Accordingly, all island wide schools will be closed on August 4, 5, 6 and 7 while August 03 is a national holiday.

This holiday is applicable to students in grades 11, 12 and 13 of all schools in the island as their academic activities resumed on July 27.

This was stated by the Minister of Education Dallas Alahapperuma addressing a media briefing held at the Ministry of Education.
