An All-Party government will not succeed as seniors in political parties will become cabinet ministers in such an eventuality thus creating divisions, SJB MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka told Parliament today.
“It is better if a group who could work in unity takes over the government. If people reject a government, an alternative group in the opposition should form a government. Therefore, such a group should be bold enough to take over,” Fonseka said.
“Talks are held from morning till evening. Power hungry people shouldn’t use tear gas on people who are expected to take to the streets on July 9. Many will be killed if that happens as many will get trampled in the melee,” he said.
