A group of Buddhist prelates of the three main chapters Tuesday met with the Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya to discuss the proceedings of the Parliamentary Select Committee appointed to investigate and report on the April 21 terrorist attack.
During the meeting, the prelates have stated that they have a special appreciation of the Speaker for his courageous act of defending democracy during the recent 52 day constitutional crisis.
They said the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to investigate and report on the terrorist attacks on April 21 is an important component of democracy in the country and they expect the activities of the Select Committee to continue without any interruption and reveal the truth.
