by editorenglish

The Election watchdog, Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) urges private sector employees to lodge complaints with the election monitor if they have any problems in obtaining leave from private institutions to cast their votes.

Executive Director of the CaFFE Ahmed Manas Makin said that the complaints unit of the organization will receive complaints in this regard. He also said that steps have been taken to resolve such complaints in consultation with the heads of the relevant institutions.

Mr. Manas Makeen points out that many private companies are violating the voting rights of their employees in every election by not granting leave and it is a serious situation.

He pointed out that as per the recommendations of the Election Commission, it is the right of the employees to take leave to cast their votes according to the area where each employee resides and the heads of the institutions are bound to grant such leave.

CaFFE is taking steps to take action against those who do not provide such leave and their leaders. CaFFE requests that complaints be forwarded to CaFFE’s Complaints Unit at 0114341524 or Fax 0112866224 or [email protected].
