CID records statement from former PM on Bond-Scam

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has recorded a statement from former Prime Minister and United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe over the Central Bank Bond Scam.

A team of CID officers had visited the former Prime Minister’s official residence located at 05th Lane, Colpetty to record the statement.

The Attorney General had instructed the acting IGP on June 18 to obtain statements from former President Maithripala Sirisena and former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on Central Bank bond scam.

Acting IGP was also instructed to record statements from the former Advisor to the Prime Minister R. Paskaralingam and General Manager of People’s Bank Wasantha Kumar on the Bond Scam.
