The Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya says that there is no coronavirus risk at the polling stations and requests the public not to be afraid to cast their ballots at the upcoming Wednesday’s election.
The Election Chief also requested the public to follow health instructions when visiting polling stations.
The Chairman of the Election Commission called on the people to exercise their right to vote. He points out that it is the responsibility of the people to elect a working group to Parliament.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission said the voters can bring their own pen to the polling station to cast the ballots.
The pen should be a black or blue ballpoint and should not have any markings promoting any candidate or any party.
It is not necessary to bring a pen and if any voter is not able to bring the own pen, a sanitized pen will be provided at the polling station, the election Commission further said.
