Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Affairs Dullas Alahapperuma has said that no constitutional amendments, controversial or problematic ordinances will be tabled in Parliament until the President dissolves the Parliament.
The Minister added that he was aware of the strength of the government’s parliamentary group and does not believe that there would be any problems with the parliamentary majority.
The Minister said there is no attempt to go for a constitutional amendment without the power in Parliament and if such amendment is to be made it will be considered after the next general election.
Minister Alahapperuma added that the government will totally focus on winning the general election to create a stronger government after the next general election.
