According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 2,646 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Monday.
Among the positive cases identified Monday 2,610 are from the New Year COVID-19 cluster and 36 foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 10:45 pm Monday, a total of 207,979 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 30,165 infected patients are being treated at hospitals, while 176,045 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Sri Lanka reported 47 deaths due to COVID-19 yesterday raising the total to 1,789.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 1,948,187 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 353,302 have received the second dose.
