Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases tally increased to 1,797 Thursday with 48 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry reported.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report updated at 11 pm Thursday, 947 confirmed patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 56 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.
Eleven patients have died while 839 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
A total of 70,290 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to June 03, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
