8th anniversary of Mullivaikal remembrance was commemorated yesterday at Mullivaikal East.
Following the speech of the Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council Mr.Vivikaseeswaran, opposition leader R. Sampanthan started delivering his speech. When he was speaking, a journalist suddenly raised a question asking what Mr. Sampanthan comes on to say about his parliamentary speech thanking the government for eradicating the terrorism. Following to this question raised by the journalist, there was a mess.
Consequently, the people who gathered there also started opposing the opposition leader by stating that the place they gathered is not for anyone to deliver their speeches and they reminded the opposition leader that Mullivaikal premises are for commemorating those who were massacred. Consequently, the leader of opposition briefly ended his speech and left from there after paying tribute.
