Relatives of those who were disappeared have staged a protest demanding numbers of demands in Mannar yesterday and they sent a memorandum consisting of their demands to the United Nations.
This rally which commenced in front of the Mannar Bus stand at around 10 AM has reached the mass graveyard where hundreds of skeleton remains found. This protest has been organized by the Association of the Relatives of those who were disappeared in Mannar headed by Ms.Manuel Uthayachanthira.
After raising many slogans at the Mannar mass grave, the rally has reached the Mannar District Secretariat through Police Station road.
Following are the slogans raised and demands written in the placards carried out by the protestors;
“Don’t give additional time to Sri Lankan government while the UNHRC Session is being taken place”
“Don’t let the Sri Lankan government escape from the Justice Mechanism”
