The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka has extended its travel ban on several flights to include France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria to Sri Lanka from March 15 for two weeks owing to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
Earlier the CAA imposed a ban on flights from South Korea, Italy and Iran, however a communique by the CAA stated that they have been compelled to include a host of other countries that had been impacted by the spread of the COVID-19 virus. “All online and offline carriers, from France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria to Sri Lanka will be banned from March 15 for two weeks ending on 29.
All airlines have been instructed not to board any passenger who is either originating from the aforementioned states or who has been to those states during the last 14 days in any of their flights destined to Sri Lanka.
