Funeral procession of Kajan, level three student of Political Science students of the University of Jaffna took place today (Sunday) from his home located at Bharathipuram in Killinochchi and his body has been buried at the Iranaimadu public cemetery.
Last time rituals were performed at 10 o’clock at his home and funeral procession took place with the participation of university students, general public and political figures.
When Kurukularajah, the Education Minister of NPC, was addressing mourners, the students expressed their fierce opposition to his speech by pulling out the microphone.
In addition, they shouted at the journalists to leave from there. Consequently, the situation was tensed for some time. As the students fiercely stated that no politicians should address at this funeral, organizers of the funeral did not allow any of the politicians to address.
The funeral event came to an end with a few of addresses delivered by the students and the representatives of grassroots.
