The Government today briefed the Chief Prelates on the progress of the process to draft a new Constitution.
Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Champika Ranawaka said that misleading information is being spread about the Constitution drafting process.
He asserted that everything that is being said are the views of individuals and is not part of the final document.
The Minister recalled that even when Mahinda Rajapaksa was President an all party committee had submitted proposals for Constitutional amendments and several opinions were expressed.
Ranawaka said that the ideas put forward at present by several political parties, including the joint opposition, are being studied yet nothing is final.
