Map for the release of lands in Valikamam North is officially yet to be made available, sources from the Jaffna District Secretariat stated.
Sri Lankan Military Commander Magesh Senanayake in an event handing over the houses in Nallinakkapura a few days ago stated that lands in Valikamam North would be released as the gift of Tamil-Sinhala New year.
In an event handing over the houses in Varuthalaivilan, P.Suresh, the Secretary of the Ministry of Resettlement stated that 650 acres of land in Valikamam North would be released on coming 16th.
Meanwhile, since the map for the release of lands in Valikamam North is yet to be made available, it may take one more week to get to know where the lands would be released, the sources from the Jaffna District Secretariat told the Global Tamil News.
About 4 kilometers long area from Kattuvan to Mayiliddi junction is still being occupied by the occupying Sri Lanka Military. Fenses of the military are being removed in this road. Based on these observations, it is expected that this road and the lands located at the west of it would be released, the officials of the Jaffna District Secretariat stated.
Without receiving the official map of the military in this regard, nothing can be certainly said, they further added.
