The Bill on the Office on Missing Persons (OMP) will be discussed in Parliament on June 22, Minister Mano Ganeshan said today.
He said that party leaders met today and decided to discuss the Bill with amendments when Parliament convenes on June 22.
Cabinet had in May last year approved establishing an office on missing persons.
The Government had said there have been strong requests for providing true information on disappeared or missing persons to their relatives to know their actual fate.
In August last year a draft Bill to establish an Office on Missing Persons was passed with amendments in Parliament without a vote.
Later more amendments were sought to the Bill and the amendments will be discussed on June 22.
