Protest staged by the relatives of those who were disappeared has reached its 500th day yesterday (01/07/2018).
This protest which commenced on 20/02/2017 in front of the Killinochchi Kandaswamy temple has reached its 500th day while solutions are yet to be met.
Meanwhile, relatives of those who were disappeared from all eight districts in north and east have gathered together and staged an attention drawn struggle.
During this protest, people were carrying the placards which read the following;
“International Community! We have no hope on local mechanism”
“UN! Assure our right of living with our children”
“Release the list of those who were disappeared”
“7 mothers died during this 500 days of protest”
“International Community! Doesn’t you understand the deceptive move of the Sri Lankan government by telling you one thing whereas telling us another thing”
“UN! We need international Investigation”
“International Community! Exert pressure on Sri Lankan government”
