31st Remembrance of “Annai Poovathy”, who sacrificed her life while being getting engaged in hunger strike demanding the expulsion of occupying Indian Army at the Batticaloa Mamankeswarar temple premises, has been observed at the auditorium in Jaffna University today morning.
Secretary of the University Students’ Union Papilraj has declared the memorial speech while Arts Faculty Students’ Union President Kirishanthan paid the floral tribute. Students lit the fame of sacrifice following the Treasure of the University Students’ Union Kiritharan lit the flame of sacrifice.
Meanwhile, 31st Remembrance of “Annai Poovathy” has been observed at the TNA office namely “Arivakam” located in Killinochchi at 9.30 AM.
Many including the parliamentarian Sritharan, ex-Northern Provincial Councilor S.Pasupathippillai and the party loyalists took part in this commemoration.
