The presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front led by United National Party (UNP) Minister Sajith Premadasa pledged to build a proud developed country safeguarding the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Motherland.
Addressing a public rally in Moratuwa today Minister Premadasa said he will be the first president in the country who will not take a salary, allowances or mansions, especially presidential palaces.
Minister Premadasa participated in three public rallies organized by the State Minister of Finance Eran Wickramaratne in Moratuwa today. The first meeting was held at Angulana, Moratuwa.
“We declare that we will create a developed and proud Sri Lanka with dignity and respect for the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of our motherland,” Premadasa said.
“The only greed in my heart is to win the honor as a president who provided a distinguished historic service to the people of this land,” he said adding that he has the energy needed to rebuild the country.
Premadasa further said he will convert the presidential palaces around the country to IT university campuses for youth and will not import bullet-proof vehicles.
The Presidential candidate added that he will sacrifice his entire life to fulfill the needs of the public and requested the public to give a chance to his strength, determination and commitment at this election.
