Security measures provided for the Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council, who visited the opening ceremony of the class room building of the Killinochchi/ Vaddakachi Primary Vidyalayam, has been peculiarly tightened in Killinochchi yesterday.
Information from Police Department states that such a tightened security measures have been provided to the Chief Minister while the conspiracy attempt made with the intention of assassinating the parliamentarian M.A.Sumanthiran is being shockingly revealed. They further added that they had been instructed to provide the tightened security to the VIPs.
In this event held yesterday at Vaddakachi, apart from the personal police protection provided to the Chief Minister, more than 25 policemen armed with T-56 rifles, 15 unarmed policemen and intelligence operatives of the Police Department have been deployed to provide security inside and around the premises where the event held.
It is noted that this is the very first time that this level of tightened security had been provided to the Chief Minister in a function held in Killinochchi so far.
