The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has remanded six teenage boys arrested in connection with the stabbing death of another teenager until the 7th of this month.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjani de Silva ordered the six juvenile suspects arrested by the Grandpass Police to be remanded until the 7th January when they were produced before the court yesterday.
The 17-year-old teenager, a resident of Wellampitiya, was stabbed to death day before yesterday, allegedly following a dispute over a video to be posted on the Tik Tok social network.
The Magistrate also ordered that the six suspects to be remanded at the Youth Detention Center in Makola under the protection of prison officials until the next court hearing.
The suspects will be produced before an identification parade on Friday.
