The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says it has decided not to support the no-confidence motion on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
TNA leader R. Sampanthan told Parliament today that the unity Government has a mandate to address the national issue and so the TNA will push for that process to take place.
He appealed to Parliament not to go against the mandate given by the people during the 2015 elections.
Sampanthan said that the wording and the timing of the no-confidence motion is indicative of the pursuit of a political agenda.
