A suspect has been arrested on charges of organizing lectures and weapons training programs for the ringleader of the Easter Sunday terror attacks Zahran Hashim.
Police Media Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne said that the arrested individual is a trustee of a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Kalpitiya.
The suspect who is a resident of Kalpitiya was arrested by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
SP Senaratne said the suspect is accused of organizing and conducting lectures and weapons training programs for Zahran Hashim through the NGO.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is conducting further investigations into the arrest.
A total of 119 suspects have been arrested so far in connection to the Easter Sunday terror attacks that occurred in April last year killing over 250 persons and injuring over 500. Courtesy: Colombo Gazette
