Youth of Point-Pedro expressed their fierce opposition to the Jaffna based weekly newspaper by burning it as it published the LTTE leader’s photo with an inappropriate heading.
This Jaffna based weekly newspaper published a photo of LTTE’s leader with cadres with the heading stating “National Leader who demands ladies at midnight 2” at its front page.
This particular heading is actually related to the story of the Auto Driver Shankar from India. It has published a news item about the confession of a murderer who committed series of murders.
The youths, who burnt this newspaper, stated that the heading and the photo for this particular news was published intentionally.
V.Prabaharan would ever at once come to the minds of Tamils if they hear the word “National Leader”. Therefore, this news was intentionally published with the intention of hurting the Tamil people, youth of the Point-Pedro area further added.
