Protest asking why does the government, which announced that terrorism is no more in the country, still keep the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in practice has been staged in Killinochchi today.
People from Killinochchi, Jaffna, Mullaitivu and Vavuniya staged protest against both the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and the Counter Terrorism Act (CTR) at Killinochchi.
This protest commenced at today (20/02) morning at 10.30 AM. This protest staged against the prevailing Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and the Counter Terrorism Act (CTR) which is going to be implemented.
This protest has been organized by the people in Killinochchi. The rally which commenced at the Old Killinochchi District Secretariat reached Depot through A9 highway.

“Government! Don’t infringe the Women’s rights through CTA”
“Don’t portrait the people of this country as terrorists”
“Liberation of the women is the liberation of this country”
“PTA is the trap which targets the minorities”
