As we mark #72 years of diplomatic relations between our two countries, I look forward to working with both of you to further enhance #SriLanka \u2013#USA relations to benefit both our peoples,\u201d Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa tweeted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biden has vowed to improve the country\u2019s international reputation, adding: \u201cOur nation is shaped by the constant battle between our better angels and our darkest impulses, it is time for our better angels to prevail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combatting COVID-19 was a core message in Biden\u2019s campaign.
