{"id":10555,"date":"2021-03-09T08:43:21","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T08:43:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globaltamilnews.net\/english\/?p=10555"},"modified":"2021-03-09T08:43:26","modified_gmt":"2021-03-09T08:43:26","slug":"indictments-served-on-swiss-embassy-employee-over-abduction-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltamilnews.net\/english\/indictments-served-on-swiss-embassy-employee-over-abduction-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Indictments served on Swiss Embassy employee over abduction claims"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Colombo High Court today served indictments on Garnian Banniester Francis, a local employee of the Swiss Embassy in Colombo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The indictments were served over false complaints filed with the Criminal Investigations Department claiming that she was abducted and released in November 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 25 November 2019, Francis had reported that she had been abducted in Colombo to force her to disclose embassy-related information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was arrested on 16 December 2019, and was remanded on the grounds of falsifying evidence.
