The recovery period may be prolonging. Certain complications such as losing sense of smell could remain for lifelong, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Not like the first and second wave, the new COVID variant infected&nbsp; have to fight with COVID pneumonia and they have to rely on oxygen,&#8221; the doctor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, even after being discharged from hospitals, the COVID infected people should be very careful and should not get infected again and get into complications, Dr. Kolabage said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Complications such as heart attack, respiratory difficulties are as a result of COIVD virus. This virus is not an easy game for people to play with,&#8221; he said&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The critical situation is that we cannot give any assurances for those who had recovered from COVID after a certain period of time. Even after sending them home, they should be on high alert of their health condition.
