A poem by Deebachelvan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Enough of seeing the war \u2013stone that had<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">smashed our hearts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Enough of seeing the statue of your soldier<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">who has killed and thrown us and shout victoriously.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Enough of seeing the stone-map, that,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">wrecking our nation,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">dance as one country on our mutilated bodies<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Come to the land where our warriors are sown<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">My dear Sinhalese Brothers!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Come and see the wounds on our faces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Please see the gallantry of those gigantic feet<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">That had crushed our heads for centuries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Please witness the valour of your militia<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">that had bombarded the tombs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Please see their grandeur of scaring the sleep<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">of the dead<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">and denying them place to lie in peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Just sit for a while and talk to our tombs<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">My dear Sinhalese Sisters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Each atom of the tombs damaged<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">would convey our thirst;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">would carry the dream of our generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Rendered in English by Latha Ramakrishnan<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enough of seeing the war \u2013stone that had smashed our hearts.
