\u201cOur only goal is to return to our village. Till that, our life will be at street\u201d, People of Pilakkudiyiruppu stated. People of Pilakkudiyiruppu belonging to Mullaitivu district have been staging their attention drawn protest for eleven days.<\/p>\n

With the stand of not giving up the protest till their own lands come to them, people of all age group including the children and senior citizens have been continuing the protest.<\/p>\n

People are at their firm stand even in the midst of snowy climate in the nights and sunny in the mornings. Many including political parties, student movements, public organizations, religious organizations and Sinhalese people are in solidarity with the protest of these people.<\/p>\n

Around 524 acres of fertile land is being occupied by the occupying Sri Lankan Air Force. These fertile lands are fulfilling the livelihoods of the people of Pilakkudiyiruppu. The people of these lands are suffering from economic hardships since their lands are still being occupied.<\/p>\n

They are worse affected economically as their fertile lands are still being occupied despite seven years have passed after the war came to an end. People of this area are in firm stand that they want their lands only instead of alternative lands.<\/p>\n

The people of this area could not be able to receive several aid schemes provided by both the government and the non- governmental organizations. They do not home to live peacefully. Being homeless, these people are worse affected.<\/p>\n

That is why; the people of this area took their firm stand to protest without being patience anymore.<\/p>\n
