{"id":9780,"date":"2020-09-20T06:28:16","date_gmt":"2020-09-20T06:28:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/globaltamilnews.net\/english\/?p=9780"},"modified":"2020-09-20T06:28:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-20T06:28:19","slug":"who-calls-for-consistent-health-funding-for-better-preparation-in-future-outbreaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltamilnews.net\/english\/who-calls-for-consistent-health-funding-for-better-preparation-in-future-outbreaks\/","title":{"rendered":"WHO calls for consistent health funding for better preparation in future outbreaks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The world Health Organization\u2019s Director-General Tedros Adhanom urged countries to ensure consistent funding for the health sector in order to enable the world to be better prepared for health crises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tedros made the call at a media briefing on the COVID-19 situation and progress of response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere has been a recurring pattern of money being thrown at outbreaks when they\u2019re already in full flow but then funds no longer being available to prevent the next outbreak,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith humility and togetherness we can plan for the long-term, and invest in health and preparedness.
