131 Buddhist temples were newly built in north while 67 out of 131 Viharas were built in Mullaitivu district in this past nine years after the war, Northern Provincial Councilor T.Raviharan stated.

Buddhist temples are built in well-orchestrated manner in the north where Buddhist people have not been living. 6 Vihars in Jaffna, 3 Viharas in Killinochchi, 20 Viharas in Mannar, 35 Viharas in Vavuniya and 67 Viharas in Mullaitivu were built in this post war era, he further highlighted.
