Police stated that one person had been arrested in connection with the murder of the woman lecturer of the Trincomalee campus of the Eastern University. She who went missing day before yesterday has been found dead yesterday morning.
She is identified as 29-year-old pregnant mother from Aasikkulam, Vavuniya. One person has been arrested at Sankamitha coastal area in connection with this murder, according to the Police.
When the accused person was carrying a handbag normally used by ladies, he was stopped and the handbag was checked. Based on some documents found in the bag been arrested in connection with the murder of the woman lecturer found dead.
Further investigations in this regard are being carried out by the Police.
