5 Sinhalese youths had heated quarrels with the Jaffna University students by stating that no one is political prisoners.
This quarrel happened when the University students, who had been marching to Anuradhapura Prison from Jaffna, were gathering in front of the prison after meeting the Political Prisoners.
More than five Sinhalese youths in 2 cars, who were under influence of Alcohol, started quarrels with the Jaffna University students, who marched to the Anuradhapura Prison, even in front of the Jail Guards and policemen.
They contradicted with the students by stating no one is political prisoners and those who are in this jail are the members of LTTE. During that, those who were at that time managed to leave the students from there.
Many who were there expressed their regret about the inaction of the policemen, who were just seeing what was happening, when the students were intimidated by the Sinhalese youth.
