Chief Minister Wigneswaran officially withdraws from ITAK

Former Chief Minister of the Northern Provincial Council CV Wigneswaran has handed over a letter announcing his withdrawal from the Ilankai Thamil Arusu Kachchi (ITAK).

Mr. Wigneswaran has handed over the letter to the leader of ITAK, MP Mavai Senathirajah on Thursday (08) at the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) party office in Jaffna.

Accordingly, CV Wigneswaran is no longer a TNA member.

After handing over the letter, Wigneswaran has said that his future political activities will be conducted under his newly formed party Tamil Makkal Koottani (TMK) and he will not keep away from political activities in the Northern Province.

When he discussed the current situation in the country, Mr. Wigneswaran has told MP Mavai Senathirajah that the TNA should be more careful when dealing with the main political parties.
